Alleged to be indistinguishable in the same model speaker. Some people feel otherwise.
It would be surprising to hear a very significant difference. |

I certainly haven't tried all the neo speakers that are available. But the two that I tried both sounded flabby and mushy on the lower end of the neck. I'll carry the extra weight as long as I can. I like Alnico or ceramic magnet speakers. No Neos for me.

I put Neo's on my Peavey BW 1501-4's and the difference in sound/tone was indistinguishable ...just sounded the same, only quite a bit lighter :-}
I am now using Telonics 15's w/neo's and they are outstanding, and even lighter !!

I have a pair of Eminence neo eps15c's in separate cabinets. After several hours of break-in they sound great. No complaints.

Another vote for Teleonics Neo 15s. If there's something that sounds better but weighs more I don't need it.

These days though the weight difference is a considerable advantage though.

A lot of folks compare neos to JBLs. Besides the weight difference, I think most neos (Telonics, TT & EPS) have higher power ratings. It’s probably easier to blow out a JBL than these modern neos. I love my neo speakers.
They are “good enoughâ€.

Several decades ago, Maurice Anderson did an experiment with different brands of steel guitars after many claimed they were able to depict a difference between MSA, ShoBud, Emmons, and a few more that I can't remember. He recorded and switched the guitars around using the same amp and settings. No one was able to definitely say which guitar they were hearing. I would guess, the same test could be administered using one guitar and switching speakers and get similar results.
