Hi all,
Loving my "new" G85 double neck Magnatone...lots of grit to the tone, a nice counter to my Stringmaster. However, the tone circuit continues to confuse me as to what I'm hearing. I've no assurance it is necessarily original but no reason to assume it is not (pots date to Nov/Dec 1954). I took a couple pictures and tried to chart out how it is hooked up, but my "transcription" is not warranted against errors...I am far from an electronics guy. But I wondered if the electronics-inclined could look at the pics and my attempt to map it out and tell me how they think it works...is it a pickup blend? Series like a stringmaster? What does the tone pot actually do? There's a capacitor in there, and a 47K resistor too. This is just the back neck...I didn't mark the output wires from the other neck.
Any ideas or interpretation would be much appreciated!
