Hi lapsteelers,
Recently I did If I fell by Lennon/McCartney,
and I Will and Junk by McCartney.
It's John Lennons turn now.
On his first solo album after the Beatles in 1970 (with for instance "Mother"), there's a fine ballad called "Love".
Nice melody for a lazy lapsteel. . . .
With even one reverse slant! But overall not difficult.
If you really want to play just melody, leave out the little parts with (. . . fill . . . ).
My version on YouTube is here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=heR8tduv1RY&feature=youtu.be
The original (with Phil Spector on piano) is here:
(have a little patience, it's slowly fading in)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7er_xx7Wmg8
Below is the first part of the tab.
If you want the complete PDF with the backing track,
just email me, and I'll send it for free.
Hope you like this one too, give it a try!
Bert

One more great tune. Thank you. Very useful idea with this "...fill..." thing, especially if someone's trying to play the tune(any tune) sight-reading it without previously listening to the original (sometimes it can happen. . . with me at least ). |
