I can't speak for how Eddie uses them but what I notice right off the bat is that P6 gives a C# major triad [C#, E# (=F), G#]. Playing the E strings instead of the Fs, gives you a C#m position. Adding the B string adds a b7 (for a dominant or m7) chord. Adding P7 adds a 6th tone for either C#6 or C#m6.
Also, used with RKL, he can get a C#m7b5 chord (or by using RKL alone, if you don't mind having your C# root in the upper register).
I'm sure there's lots more there too. Looks like a pretty versatile tuning to me. _________________ www.JimCohen.com

Thanks for the response Jim, it really seems to be versatile, and just complicated enough for where I’m at right now in my learning . What is your perspective on the Left knee Right ?! |

A much simpler answer is that his P6 is the same as a regular P5, and his P6 is like LKV on E9 or uni and like RKL on C6. _________________ Make sleeping dogs tell the truth!

Since we are on the topic , let me ask you this ...other than the “boowah†that pedal 5 offers , what are the other uses ? |

Eddie's P5 is what is traditionally P8. That change is much more often used for the 9th string raise in 3- and 4-string grips than for the full "boowah". _________________ Make sleeping dogs tell the truth!
