Hope you guys don't get tired of these...

I've been wondering about this one for a while, and I know you guys would know a LOT better than I would. This is a live performance of "Halfway Down," done by Jim Lauderdale and Patty Loveless. Looks like it was a TNN show hosted by Ricky Skaggs - probably a 'house' band. Judging from the talk of Patty's hit with the tune, I'd guess it's mid-late '90s.

You get a decent shot of the steel player around 2:40 and again at 4:30 - but his long hair kinda hides his face (not likely that I'd know who he was anyway). I'm sure some of you will know who the Tele player is as well - he gets a decent amount of camera time. I do recognize the fiddle player as Stuart Duncan.

Kinda neat how they used the guitar solo to completely change keys to switch from Jim to Patty singing the melody.

Bob/Craig - now that you've mentioned him, it very well could be Steve. The only pictures I've seen of Steve online are more recent, and his hair is now a different color...but the haircut would be the same.

I really like this version of the song - Jim and Patty are great together. And could-be-Steve and friends did it up nicely.

Could be Steve-he's playing an Emmons. Pete Finney played a Sierra when he was with Patty and Paul Franklin plays a Franklin on the studio version of the song.
