Has anyone used or use a George L's E66 pickup on their Emmons push pull guitars? How do they perform, and how do you like them?

I put one on my '83 universal and didn't change the tone, just got rid of the hum. It allowed me to milk the sustain out it better.

I have one on my '75 p/p. Compared to the original single coil on my Legrande, it could be described as very slightly glassier - a little more highs, but those are very nicely polished and pleasant highs, at least to my ears. No muddiness, nothing at all like the huge difference between a Strat and a Les Paul.

I had an E66 on my 79 p/p when I got it. I thought I would reinvent the wheel, so I traded it out for an L710 and have regretted it ever since. The 710 is just way too bright. The E66 was smoother sounding to my ears. |

I have used George L's 10-1 on my push pull and they sounded terrific, however my vintage Bill Lawrence 605's sound even better.

Try the George L's EON pickup. It's wound just like an E66 but the polepiece is a different metal giving a much fatter, beefier sound. It still has the clear top end of the E66. Sounded real good in a push/pull that I tried it in. The 10-1 also sounds great in a p/p. I didn't care for the 710 in my p/p.
