Hey All

I got this PM after explaining that I no longer send out tab.

Then take down your posts offering tab!!!

I spent many hours tabbing songs and gave them to you guys free of charge, for well over a year.

I am a self employed control engineer and I have been lucky, that I have been working steadily lately.
So have not had time to play much.

A lot of my tab must be way back in the tab section and I can't practically go back over them all and delete.

I have posted that I can no longer send out tab.

So please understand, that I am unable to send out tab at the moment. If I run short of work, I may find time to do more.

Sorry for any, unintended offence.

There are so many good guys who offer tab, I know folks like Erv will be able to let you have your favorite tune/tab.

Kind Regard

J.R.

John,

I always appreciated the tabs you did and sent out..........but I have to wonder.....

Why not just post them here, like everyone else does? It seems like it would be so much less work and stress for you, instead of dealing with all the emails, etc.

I know I stopped sending you email requests, because I felt like I must just be imposing on your goodwill.

John, I totally understand. Sometimes ones life gets so busy you have to choose what to drop in order to keep ones sanity. I have enjoyed the tabs you've done. Very elegant and I'm sure time consuming. Thanks.

John,
You offer a great service to fellow steelers but I can understand your situation.
When you offer something for free everybody wants it
and I'm sure some take advantage of your good nature.
Take care! Very Happy

John,

You have been a kind man to do what you have done for the steel guitar community. I have always appreciated your tabs. I know it had to be labor intensive.

Thank you!

I've really enjoyed your tab since I got into steel guitar. I have quite a number of your tabs and use them every day as a learning tool. Very valuable to me. Thank you.

WOW !!!!! David so John has been so nice to share his tabs with the steel guitar community for free for the last couple of years while he was trying to earn a living doing other things, I don't know if you ever offered to pay him for his tabs or not just as a token of appreciation and now that he is busy full time he doesn't have the time to help the community, you sent him IMO an email cutting him down because he's couldn't send you a tab. I cherish the Free tabs I have gotten from him as they are professionally done, neat and easy to follow. The steel guitar community will have to sit back and hopefully wait for your return. Thank You John for the tabs I have gotten from you in the past and the best of luck in your new endeavor.

Definitely very nice of John to send out what he did, and he's certainly under no obligation to keep doing it.

As Michael Hill said though...... posting someone's private message without permission is kind of bad form, no matter what it says. Not very cool at all. He could have made the point without doing that.

Not sure everyone realizes that.

Jim and Michael,

Why didn't you express your opinion through a private message to John?

Why did you do it publicly?

The drama free, stress free solution in the future would be to post your tabs as JPG, then everyone can look and you don’t have to engage anymore. It’s better for a time strapped schedule if you don’t mind people looking at your stuff for free. OR you can start charging for them and the emails will stop so fast your head will spin.

I think this is a good idea.

I know some people aren't comfortable (or have the time) with doing the conversion to different formats and posting files...........so, I'd be happy to volunteer my time to do that for you, if you wanted, John.
