Does anyone know if any manufacturer is currently making strings with the short wrap as in the photos below? [note string #6].
This is one of the early generation Jag's, and they were coiled rather than twisted. The recent ones I bought are not made this way. http://usera.imagecave.com/prosteel/bM/jag20st.jpeg http://usera.imagecave.com/prosteel/bM/jagstX2.jpeg

I would like to know where you can buy strings with the short wrap only. I often get strings with the wrap coming up too far and have to throw the string away, and that includes every brand made that I am familiar with.

Yeah Robert, I haven't been able to find them with the short coil lately either. Back when David Mc tried to sell me on the Jags, the advantages of the short wrap feature didn't occur to me.
I was a content Geo. L's user and didn't try them until much later. Guess I should've listened to David and stocked up on them then!

If you have changer fingers that require a ball end (ball slips over a post), then this is no help, but if your strings mount in a slot, you can eliminate wrappings completely by going to "Bullet" ends. I order them here (scroll down to the Bullet End section):
