Hey guys I just signed up! I mostly play a Duesenberg, but I still like the vibe from my old Valco steels.

Here's a quick pic of my gigging and recording setup. The Ox and the Vibroverb are sometimes replaced by a Princeton.

The very first vid I ran across of your playing/style pulled me in.. bare fingers, or with just a thumb..the colors you can get are so alive, hypnotic. The choice of effects and backing tracks meld it all together nicely.
A very big WELCOME to you!

Hi Luke,

Welcome to the group.
Been watching your videos for a long time now.
Your playing is wonderful and your tone is amazing.

However; I ordered a Fairytale a while back and it is being delivered early this week.
It's all your fault. After watching you play it finally made me bite the bullet and order one.
I can't play like you but I can dream.
Since I don't go to Facebook it is nice to have you in here.
Some of us just may try and pick your brain.....
I sure as heck can't pick my guitar worth a darn.......... Sad

Wilkommen! Like many of the others I've heard your playing before. The first link would fool many, thinking that was a pedal steel. Second one has a lovely tone in that sweet spot between clean and overdriven tones...is that the Ox constraining the power tubes, or preamp distortion? I was hit with a little sticker shock when I saw the price on that attenuator box...

Welcome to the forum, Luke! I've enjoyed your playing on FB for a while now. You use those hand pedals with a lot more subtlety and musicality than many players I've heard.

Thank you! In the video you mentioned you’re hearing the amp overdriving. I also shuddered at the hefty price tag of the Ox, but I have to say it has completely changed the way I record. Since it’s not just an attenuator, but also a very good cab and mic simulation, I haven’t miked up a single amp in the studio since I bought the thing. It’s actually that good Smile My Vibroverb is way to loud to really enjoy its overdriven sound, and now I can turn it up and play it with headphones.

Hey!

I just uploaded another quick video, further exploring my fake pedal steel playing. Smile

It's very short, I initially shot for instagram that does not allow videos over 60 secs.
