hey Guys, if you could builded your self a new Steel Guitar, what would you name it,
For my self maybe......Phillips steel guitar who knows,
how about Sho-Off.

I built a S-10 3 and four and I call mine White Steel Guitar. I'm in the procces of builting a S-12 now with 50 o/o of it built and it will be a White Steel Guitar.If you listen to Bobbe he might call his scally Wag.
Sorry Bobbe I needed a good pick on and you were game.

...the names that come to mind have already been taken...if I was to build a steel guitar, I would want to come into the market with some mechanical innovation that would give the instrument it's generic name..
..they invented a guitar without frets, the fretless guitar...they invented a guitar without tuning keys, the keyless guitar...my invention would eliminate the nut.. |

I would call it The MAC TWANGER after me of course. It would have 10 Pedals, 6 Knee levers,S-10.It would weigh a ton and have it's own 4x4 motorized/Hydraulic system with GoodYear A/T tires for climbing stairs and for going across the stage and cross country, also a built in Steel Alarm system. Cost $100 for 70 months with option to lease for 2 years.Maybe Mr. Seymour would be interested?lol And the colors, Navy Blue,Teal,Oak,Black,Pearl,Aquamarine,Amythyst,Metalic Purple,Jet Black.The black ones would sound better.Of Course.

Every once in a while a great thread comes along with many great posts that show great intelligence and humor. All you guys have conspired to make this another of these historical (histerical) threads. Now THIS is my kind of forum chatter! But, not to make anyone mad or upset, Ray Montee, (Skip) I sincerely feel that the industry is finally ready for a steel guitar named---"Skippy" .
Just think about it, Skippy, My guitar is named Skippy, wouldn't you be proud to be able to look someone in the eye and say this, "This is my Guitar, "Skippy"--- Now there is something you can really be proud of!!

The way my speaker was cutting out last sunday morning mine could have been called Skippy. I would finish it with SCOTCHGUARD and call it STAINLESS STEEL. Or maybe I would use some old and new technology and call it STILLSTEEL, or maybe make it out of copper pipe and call it MOONSHINE STEEL.
