Topic: Sho Bud volume pedal rack attachment |

Can someone show me how the pedal rack attachment for Sho Bud volume pedal (kind that attaches to pedal rack) works? I have seen attachment but have not seen how it works with rack and the pedal. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks so much. Looks like you have it on an older pedal type Sho Bud. I wonder how it fits Super Pro pedal rack?

That is a Super Pro style pedal rack, even though it has the old style pedals. Look close in the lower right corner.
Basically, there's a couple square nuts that slide into the grooves in the rack, and they're tightened with screws, so the vp attachment sits tight up against the rack. |

How does the bracket stay in the pedal rack, guys? Thanks for mentioning the Super Pro pedal rack. I'm using the ole Sho Bud pedals but have seen the pedal that works with rack. Want to be pretty sure about things before I decide on looking stronger at the Sho Bud volume pedal that uses this bracket thing. Thanks guys.

Wayne, the Super-Pro pedal rack bar is slotted...hopefully yours looks like this?
As Skip Edwards pointed out, Two square nuts slid through the groves in the bar, and held tight by two machine screws keep the pedal bracket in place. You may have to remove the screw that the leg clamp(slider) holds tension to, to get those square nuts in the grooves. Hope this helps you a little? Good luck!

If your steel has the old (pre SuperPro) pedal rack, the SB vp attachment might not work. The depth of the rack may be too deep for the attachment.
My old '72 Sho-Bud was like that... I used an Emmons pedal that attached with 2 flat pieces of metal and a hole in the top of the rack. That worked great, and can also be used with modern pedals like Hilton, if you use the adapter.
What kind of pedal rack does your steel have?
OK... just saw in your post that you've got a SuperPro... so you shouldn't have any problem using the adaptor and the SB pedal. |

I think the problem is the nuts/bolts. When I see the attachment via picture, I do not see the nuts/bolts for this proposed pedal that I'm looking at. The little bar that helps hold the volume pedal can be got if that's missing but those nuts/bolts look unique. I need to inquire to make sure if the nuts/bolts are available and just not pictured. Thanks guys.

| Wayne, the nuts and bolts are ordinary hardware. Mine had slot head capscrews and square nuts(that side into the extrusion). Maybe 10/24 3/4" |

So if the pedal rack attachment doesn't have these bolts, I can get them at a hardware store? They looked unique so I was concerned about finding some. I think I see that you have these bolts and the nuts are little bigger than the pedal rack slot and you tightened them down and the tension holds the attachment. Thanks everyone. If some one already had these, shout out.
