Topic: Looking for a brighter pickup |

Hello,
I had recently pickup up a Sierra single neck with a George L Pickup. It's not nearly as bright or aggressive as a BMI I used to have and I would like to recapture some of that. Does anyone have any recommendations of a pickup that I could drop into this steel? I'm not sure what type of mount I should be looking for.

| It doesn’t appear to have a model number stamped on top of it so it’s probably a 10-1. An E-66 is brighter. It also appears to just be a wide mount pickup. That’s the only 2 George L’s I’ve used so that’s all I can say about that. BL 705’s are fairly bright. |

Another thing about the 705's is you can wire them with a switch for parallel or single coil operation and get a nice bright sound + the full bodied humbucker sound. RP

Alumitone sounds great and is in the brighter end of the humbucker spectrum.

| I'll second John about Alumitone. I have several for my MSA - 705, Telonics XP, Truetone - and the Alumitone is by far the brightest - and very sweet sounding too. The Telonics is my second Favorite - it's bright and powerful. |

| like said before, try an E 66, they're easy to come by. it will give you a bright and well defined sound I m o. |

I'll definitely try out an E66 and I'll look into the Alumitones. Does anyone have experience with the Wallace TT-10?

| Not sure what model my Truetone is but, it's no where near as bright as the Alumitone. I play through an old Twin with K-120s and like the classic very bright and sweet tone - the Alumitone is my favorite, with the Telonics X10 as runner up. However the Telonics is kind of made for certain types of guitars like new MSAs - you might want to check the Alumitone or the E66 like Norbert mentioned. |

| I would use and outboard EQ before changing pickups. Might be all it needs. |
