Unbelievable. Simply love it.
Are you playing with a regular guitar pick? |

Doug, you are one of those players who actually deserves to be on YouTube. It is always a treat!
PS- Oh yeah, the flatpick is definitely against the rules |

I love the staccato thumpy parts. Did you learn it off the Shadows or the Ventures version--or??
It seems to lay out real nice on the steel. |

Surf and steel are a marriage made in lap steel heaven. Really beautifully played, Doug. In my new surf book I talk about the advantages of a flat pick for this music. The backing track is perfect too. Thanks for sharing! _________________ Steel Guitar Books! Website: www.volkmediabooks.com |

Doug is too modest to admit that he has a wonderful arrangement of Apache tabbed out for 6-string C6 in one of his excellent tutorials. |

Very nice Doug.......I always look forward to your uploads. I think from memory this would be the Ventures version mainly. In the UK we only heard the Shadows version and we all played it! My elder brother somehow acquired a Ventures album with Apache on. I learned some of their licks and my little school band played it. All the aspiring guitarists was interested in this different arrangement. It did not do my school cred any harm at all! Mike |

It's no wonder you like that song. It sounds like one that's perfectly suited to a steel arrangement.
Are you, perhaps, working on one? |
