Looking to try a few different pickup models for my MSA Legend.

I have a George L and I'm getting a new one BL Tuesday for MSA but I'm curious if anyone has any others they want to part with at a fair price.. I can always sell the ones I don't like here on the forum.

Please let me know.

Thx

David - Which GeorgeL did you try? Will you share your impression of it?

E-66 is very bright.

10-1 I believe has a little more definition but still lacking in the lower range even with the bass all the way up on my Quilter.

I'm still interested in finding some more of these to try. I sending the E-66 back to Jim that he allowed me to try, but still really looking for a few others to try.

I wonder about an EON. It's supposed to be wound the same a an E-66 but with different magnet composition to make it somewhat "warmer".

I've heard BL705s and Telonics 409s live; different players and amps, same room. I had the chance to compare the 705 and 710 in the E9 neck of an MSA D10. I preferred the 710 to the 705 and 409. Of course, that's just my ears. I didn't notice whether the 409's individual pole pieces were fine tuned for each string or just used as they come from the factory.

When they are setup correctly, the telonics 409 pickup is pretty hard to beat, I have them in both my Zum Hybrids and my older MCI -- they all sound amazing !

David, For my MSA Mill, I love the Telonics #409 on E9th. for a fat, but clean sound, and a Telonics #84 for C6th., but tone is also effected by amplifier choice used.

FWIW I tried numerous pickups the day I picked up my MSA Legend XL and the 705 to me was the winner.
