Hi,

What hardware, software and/or microphone are you using to record the audio for all these Youtube entries posted here?

I really need to purchase a solution and wonder what everyone else is using. I appreciate any help.

Thanks
Fraser

Fraser, I don't know how professional you want to sound but I use BIAB for my rhythm trax with a little bit of right hand midi keyboard. Apart from that my rebuilt ZB student into an Ernie Ball JR volume pedal into a Zoom MS-70 CDR fx pedal with just plate reverb directly into a Creative Audigy soundcard. I have no idea about mixing so this is what I feel and what I hear. To cap that I have always loved Connie Francis.

Thanks James and Dave for your responses.

Dave - which Creative Audigy soundcard are you using? https://us.creative.com/p/sound-cards?filters=1163 Is it on here? The sound quality sounds great. Not sure it's gonna go in my laptop though.

James - it looks like you are using what Bob is using for alive concert he just posted. How do you like it? Your tune is very cool. I like it!

Anybody else want to share how they are recording themselves?

Thanks

Fraser, I’ve used several methods, but have settled on this the last couple of years.

DAW ~ PreSonus Studio One 4 Professional
Interface ~ PreSonus FireStudio Project
Computer ~ Mac
Mic ~ SM-57

I rarely use a Mic anymore, mainly because of how I’m set up in my studio.
I mainly go Direct these days and have used a Revelation Tube Pre-amp and a
Quilter Steelaire Rackmount into my Interface.
I’m now using a Telonic’s 500C 212 Super Twin, using the DI into my interface,
which is really nice, having some special MOJO

Here’s some options to get you started... If you click on the Buy Now button it will
take you to a page for different vendors to get a price.

Hope this helps

Hi Dale,

That was very helpful!!! My head is sort of spinning with all the options and equipment. I'll have to call and talk with them to see what would be best for me. I've been a little anti-gear in the past and now I have to do a little catching-up on that....as I have no direct experience with the kind of equipment you're talking about.

Thanks again

Boy do I get that anti-gear statement.

I played for 40+ years with my original Sho~Bud VP and Built-in Reverb from my Session 500 or any other amp I used.

Oh how times have changed Very Happy Laughing Very Happy
