Very nice George. How thick are they? I like the radius on the tail end.......classy. _________________ Currently own, 6 Groner-tone lap steels, one 1953 Alamo Lap steel, Roland Cube, Fender Champion 40 |

Thanks Bill,
These particular ones are 1/4" thickness.
I can etch and cut all sorts of thickness, 1/8 - 1/4 seem most popular.
The Radius tail end was inspired by Andy Volk's encouragement.
Here are some more ----->
25 scale 6 string
23 Scale Deluxe 6 string
24.5 Deluxe with Stars 8 string and (Hard to see in this photo) double lines for frets.

Can the plexi boards as installed on Gibsons from the forties and fifties be duplicated? |

Hello Jack and everyone.
The Short answer is pretty much Yes.
I know what they did back then and have experience making modern versions and way back many years doing all of the angled side edges and back painting.
It is so time consuming to basically hand make a major part of the overall effort, the labor cost is beyond that which-- many folks will pay for a custom piece.
Our Motto Add Money and Stir.
The laser can cut 5 pieces and etch and so on in one big happy session.
That takes about 2 hours or so.
I am glad to talk about the process here if that is something folks would like to hear about. _________________ GeorgeBoards S8 Non Pedal Steel Guitar Instruments

Thanks a lot for your reply, George.
One more inquiry: How about the feasibility of duplicating the classic Emmons pattern of multicolored atoms on a black background with white fret markers and perimieter in a 1/4" plexi fretboard especially for us Emmons GS-10 student model aficionados.
One nitpicky gripe about these wonderful little pedal steels is their lack of a neck -- their super thin fretboards attach directly to the top of the body. I feel a 1/4" plexi duplicate would be a significant upgrade. |

GeorgeBoards Manufacturing has maintained a policy of No Plagiarism in regards to making Exacting Copies of Logo's without express consent from the Holders of such Trademarking and so on.
If some one -- not me - were to gain permission and have that forwarded to me then sky is the limit.
For example I did just this for a member in coordination with Mullen Pedal Steels (they provided the original art work) - his was a custom White FB with their company logos.
To physically make an etched back painted the colorized logo is not too difficult and only few hours time consumption.
I can say that Steel Guitar North County already makes what you described on a typical flat thin FB in the Emmons Logo.
So here we are at the same budgetary issue, are you willing to pay what it costs to produce what you are asking for?
Quick Example of added costs = Straight vertical edges are easy , angled edges on plexi , sanded out and polished to glass, adds all sorts of time and effort. _________________ GeorgeBoards S8 Non Pedal Steel Guitar Instruments
