I don't need an exact date but I'm curious to what era of ShoBud my new/old guitar was from. It has the rounded body front, rack and barrel undercarraige, wide pedals and old style keyhead.

It was my understanding that the rack and barrel stopped around 1975/1976.

Thanks, Dave

Rack & barrel ended in '73, I believe.

Dave do you have a picture of it??
If not; what inlay is it?
Does it have the metal casing that holds the axle and fingers and the neck butts up to it...or does the neck wrap around the finger mounting?
Does it have the Tone and Volume and two-way switch on the ledge or holes where that was; or not?
There were a few different models of these "Single-10 Professionals" that could actually date it specifically.
Otherwise Skip; is pretty much correct....as the first series Pro-II's and Sho-buds starting putting round crossbars in to replace the racks...right around the '72 era> give or take several months; as Sho-bud would still make something someone really wanted.

Dave..I have a very early 1973 Pro II It had the single raise / single lower changer with the "2 hole" rod pullers and round cross shafts. As far as I know, the "racks" ended in late 72 When I get done with it, it will have the double raise / double lower "Super Finger" changers with the standard 8 & 4 emmons setup on it. Naturally with my new knee levers and rod pullers and cross shafts! Coop
