Here's a video from a gig I played awhile back. The musicians that night had no clue who was singing or what songs would be played. Several great artists sang that night. This is Thomas Gabriel who is Johnny Cash's grandson - he definitely inherited the voice! I'd just finished playing Folsom Prison with Thomas and spent the time time between that song and this one talking with Phil Keaggy about who would play guitar on HURT. Neither of us had played it before, and Phil talked me into playing on this one. Phil was actually holding up phone in front of me so I could read the chords. Anyway, all that talking between tunes is why my guitar is a bit out of tune Shocked didn't have a chance to tune before the song was started. The great Tim Gonzales is on harp, and Johnny Neel hits the final chord on keys.

We had to play that song (Hurt) when our band toured with Tommy Cash here in Florida (we did 7 winter tours with Tommy). It was just our lead guitar player on a Martin, I didn't play on that song.
