Charlie Norris Memories
Since I played the National Electric Hawaiian, previously owned by
Charlie yesterday, I wanted to post this video of memories.
This video brings back memories of the late Charlie Norris of Texas,
a great friend to me, and probably a mutual friend of many of you.
The video also has a photo and information about his purchase of
the National Electric Hawaiian (7S): 1935 as a teenager.
CHARLIE NORRIS MEMORIES
I hope all enjoy.

That is a great story you did of Charlie, and the 1935 National Electric Hawaiian. |

Charlie Norris was President of the Texas Steel Guitar Association for many years. He put together one of the best steel shows and it is still going strong today. I remember him being a kind man with a huge laugh. |

Charlie included me on the Texas Steel Show for the last several years he was President as did Wayne Smith and Louie. Fun times! Charlie Norris was very good to me and I still miss him.

He sold me my first pro steel. I always enjoyed chatting with him at the Dallas show. In the later years he may not have remembered me, but I thanked him for all he did, and let him know how much I enjoyed the show. He was a good guy. |

Charlie and Shirley were great friends to me and to the steel guitar community. They always made me feel so welcome at the Texas show.

Charlie Norris also invited me to the Texas show - something I thought would never happen. Having attended this show for many, many years then being invited to be a part of it was a dream come true. Charlie was a business man, but when he was at the Texas show, just him being there made the show, icing on the cake was when Jody Sanders MC'd the show. A true Texas experience. |

I first met Charlie and his family in Dallas when we first exhibited Peavey products there. I miss Charlie and his infectious smile. He was a good man that has been missed. |
