fixed broken rods on several guitars. find the anchor point of the rod. cut the fretboard within a couple of frets inside the binding and heat it off. dig down to the anchor and cut the rod with a dremel cut off wheel and pull the rod out and remove the anchor. slide in a new rod and thread it into a new anchor and glue back in the rosewood and refret.

Billy is right, It can be done easily by a competent luthier. Then you have a great guitar that wont break the bank.
