Bobby Black with Bill Kirchen last nite in Soquel at Michaels on Main.
Talked with him for a bit, it never ceases to amaze me how humble and friendly all of the steelers are.
Great show at nice small venue.

I love to see pictures of Bobby still playing. He was an inspiration to me in the 70s and he still is, the way he keeps going! Not sure he's ever had quite the recognition that such a stylish player deserved among the big names.

Me too - they visited the UK around then. For the benefit of a British audience they made their concert into a lecture recital. That's how I learned what Western Swing was _________________ Make sleeping dogs tell the truth!

Great to see Bobby still playing. I have seen Bobby and his brother since the mid 60s from San Jose, Hayward, Oakland, Brisbane and San Francisco. Main steel players at that time was Bobby and Vance. I used to watch them to get a couple of licks. Great steel players and great people. _________________ Carter D12, MSA S12, 12 String Custom Made Non-Pedal, Evans FET 500LV, Evans SE200, Peavey Nashville 400, Fender Steel King |
