As some of you know, my dad passed away last Tuesday, July 17, from cancer. He was ill for some time, but nobody know the extent until about 2 weeks ago. We are thankful that he is no longer in pain and celebrating with Jesus. I will miss him, and feel like I have lost the biggest champion in music for the last 20 years. My dad was instrumental in my musical journey and I wouldn't be in Nashville were it not for him.

A memorial will be held on Friday, July 27, at 2 PM, in the chapel at Perimeter Church in Johns Creek, GA.

Jonathan, we are so sorry to hear that your dad had suffered so much in his final days. A couple of years ago he shared his testimony with me at one of our GaSGA shows. He, clearly was so proud of his family!
You know that your steel guitar family loves you, and is praying for you and your family in these difficult days and months ahead.

Here is a picture of your dad photo-bombing our group selfie of "the girls".

Jonathan,
So sad to hear about your Dad. He and I worked at Reliance Electric 40 plus years ago. It was a pleasant surprise to see him at the steel shows.
I will miss him, and offer my deepest condolences.
regards,
Richard Born (Lefty).

Lefty,

I don't think I knew that. If I did, it was lost to my young memory a long time ago. Thanks for sharing.
