From dblnk's post in the thread Jeff linked:

"I have a set of 1501's and a set of 1502's. The 1501's seem to have a lot softer, warmer, sound. The 1502's have a more clear prominent sound with better individual note definition. I get nice, fat lows out of the 1501's and a bitey high response. I am now using one of each. I seem to have gotten a lot of "mud" when playing at high stage volumes with 2 1501's. I seem to get a "honky" nasally sound with 2 1502's. Using one of each works real well for me. I use the 1502 for the main channel, mainly because of the clarity. It may be worth a try, but bear in mind: What works well for one particular person, may or may not work well for someone else."
