Nifty one, Tom. Looks barely used.. do regular 12AX, -U size tubes go inside? Or other 'mini' style? Thx. JZ
PS: You have a gray- haired cat at home? 😠|

I honestly don't know what kind of tube goes into these pedals. I've never opened it up. Never had a need to.
I don't have a grey cat, but the house where I rehearse at sure does. Ha !!!!! _________________ To write with a broken pencil is pointless. |

These have been out for awhile. I would GUESS it has a regular 12AX7 tube, which would be the same as the Hughes & Kettner TubeFactor2 OD/distortion pedal I have, which is contemporary to the Seymour Duncan unit. |

They use little tiny tubes that are soldered into the board . They show how to change them on YOUTube . |

The Twin Tube Classic uses 6201 (mu=35) subminiature tubes. The Twin Tube Blue uses 6111 (mu=20) subminiatures. These tubes were made for portable devices and mostly were designed to withstand reasonably rough treatment - shock, vibration, etc. Tube data sheet here - http://www.tubebooks.org/tubedata/HB-3/Receiving-Type_Industrial_Tubes/6021.PDF
They are soldered onto the board. I have both, my favorite overdrive/distortion pedals. The tubes are available and generally pretty inexpensive. NOS about $7 at Antique Electronics and lots more sources available. Cheaper than finding NOS 12AX7/5751/12AU7, etc., but harder to change. Tradeoffs.
BTW, the tubes are not plate-starved in these. I measured around 260 or 270 VDC on the plates. |

It sure sounds great. Too bad it takes up so much room on my pedal board. _________________ To write with a broken pencil is pointless. |

That's how I feel about the H&K unit. Very big. Sounds great, but because of the footprint, I rarely use it these days.
