Could I solicit some tips how to re-glue this chrome strip.

| Apply contact cement to both surfaces masking off the guitar- wait 5 min and adhere the strip to the guitar. Remove the masking tape and wipe off the excess cement- I usually use a titch of lacquer thinner if it's a mica guitar or just rub a bit if it's a lacquer guitar. |

wouldn't I have to completely remove the strip to do that?
also, contact cement is a one-shot deal....don't place it perfectly, and it's ruined....right? |

Chris, you would have to remove the strip to do that which is really best way to fix. But, if the strip is just loose like in your pic, I use gorilla glue. Put some glue on a thin piece of cardboard like a business card or something. Work the glue around to get good coverage and either clamp it or with that glue, you can just hold it for 5 minutes or so and it bonds. I would only do this method if the strip will fit back in perfect.
Don’t get the glue on the mica either.

| If you end up taking the whole strip off make sure you clean all the glue from bothe surfaces so that it will lay back on squarely and lay evevenly. |
