It doesn't matter.

Damir has the idea on insignificance. No problem.

Thanks for all the welcome back well wishes and good words of encouragement.
wow I might have to leave again because I'm losing my insignificance.
There are so many great Steel players that contribute here that it's almost impossible not to feel insignificant.
What gets me in trouble here is that I love talking about music more than playing music and as a consequence I go way off the deep end on everything.

When it comes to money, some people would look at what I own and claim I am rich. Many, many others could cover my entire net worth out of their pocket change and not even miss it.

I try to consider my steel skills in the same vein. If "me" 5 years ago could see how I play now, I would have been thrilled. And we have had videos on here of 12-year old kids who can play rings around me.

There is always someone better, there is always someone you are better than. Instead of comparing, just go have fun. If the forum isn't fun, take a couple years off and then come back and start a thread about it!

OK........from now on, when you go way off the deep end, we will put up the initials...........STHU! That will be your clue to back it down. Then you won't have to be absent from the forum like in the past. Winking

I always feel that folks will leave my topics move on when I go off the deep end and find topics here where a person can just hang their toes in the shallow end.
You're both right. Sorry for the confusion.
My name is Stuart Bo Legg my son is Stuart Kevin Legg
Stuart Kevin legg hates to be called Kevin so he joined as Stuart Legg and I joined as Bo Legg.
I like to use Bo Legg on stage when I play well and use Stuart Legg when I don't so it follows then that a whole lot of folks know me as Stuart Legg Oh Well

For the folks at church where i play every Sunday, and who don't even know what I am playing, but who love how it sounds, I feel significant. That's all I need.

Start a band? Play a show? Maybe 1 person might like it.

And TRY so hard to accept how important that is!

Hey!!! I just got out of the hospital, I was having a reaction to my new meds, my amp was cutting in and out, I had to pound on it to keep it going, a knee lever stuck, the band sucked, there was a draft and my steel wouldn’t stay in tune, my fingers were cold, I forgot my fan and a million other things went wrong, but Hey!!! You don’t see me making excuses!!
