I ordered my usual A250 volume/tone pots for my little lap steels, but it seems they sent the wrong ones. The ones they sent are about half the size (about as big as a dime?) of my regular ones, which are bigger than a quarter. They are marked B500. Will these little pots still work the same,,,or will I notice any difference?

B500 indicates a 500k ohm linear pot. You may notice more treble, potentially too shrill depending on the pick up but you can always dial the tone back. You may not notice any difference. The linear taper will give you a pot that wont swell as well, it'll be more on/off at the low end but have more usable range at the top end. I like linear pots on my guitars so as to keep the amp cranked up and adjust how much overdrive I get from the guitar. Audio pots work better for volume swells and I recall they work better as tone pots.
