A friend of mine has a 6 string rickenbacher lap steel and wants to know it's value and/or approximate age.

from my experience I would estimate $400 - $650.
I know lots of folks think they can get rich selling them but I have seen some who have gotten them for less than my estimate. _________________ Lookin' on the sunny side.... |

That is a model NS, post-war 1940's. To get a definite age on the guitar, you need to pull the pickup and then pull out some of the newspaper that is stuffed in the body. Date on the newspaper will give you a date of when it was probably made. I think they sound better with an old towel stuffed inside instead of the newspaper. _________________ Michael Brebes
