I would like some advice on how to post copedents. I have to think this has been covered before but I couldn't find anything with a search.
Thanks, Jay |

I use spreadsheet software (Libre Office is free, but any should work). Set up the number of cells you need and make them text cells, then just enter the info. I can then take a screen shot of it and post it into photo-editing software. Here is the result (this from a post of mine a number of years ago):

I use a screenshot of an Excel spreadsheet and the Windows Snip Tool to trim it up. _________________ Make sleeping dogs tell the truth!

Thanks guys, I don't have any Excel experience to draw on and after wasting an hour trying to figure it out and just getting more and more frustrated I think I'll have to wait until I can find someone to show me how to do that. |

You can do it using just text. Prepare you text using a monospaced font. That means every character has the same width. Then when you post, put the word "tab" inside the square brace characters (not in quotes). And "/tab" after. Use Preview to confirm. |

Jay sometimes I'll just have the copedent up on my Computer screen and then take a picture of it with my camera or phone...then save it; and then on here, just "upload picture" and wala...there it is...

OK Jay; so happy you are getting help. Since you don't need what I posted for help..(no prob.) BUT I will say as many don't know or have a clue or always wanted to know
"LLOYD MAINES" Copedent....well there it is.
He has played this copedent on all his Daughters number 1 hit Dixie Chicks songs and all the great Texas singer songwriters through 40 years.....>there ya go.

Hmm, I see I need to be a little more careful with my choice or words when I ask for help. What I SHOULD have asked for was 'how do I create a copedent chart'. I needed an Excel lesson which my daughter gave me yesterday so hopefully you all will see something interesting in the for sale section in a day or two with a well crafted copedent chart.
Thanks for chiming in.

Excel is useful for all sorts of things apart from speadsheets, so it's well worth knowing the basics. _________________ Make sleeping dogs tell the truth!

If you're on the Mac platform, when you have your document, Excel, Word, etc., finalized, hit Print, in the lower left corner you can output as a PDF instead, I think those can be included in Forum threads as an Image, haven't done that in a long time so hope that's correct. Cleaner output than a screen shot. b0b, is that doable? _________________ E9 INSTRUCTION

I developed this Copedent Chart. It shows the layout, string size, the copedent & the rodding chart on one sheet. I haven't had that guitar for 19 + years.
Hope you guys like the Chart... It is a Print Shop product

Like this:
Code: |
[tab]
P1 P2 P3 P4 K
E F
C D B
A B
G F#
E Eb
C C#
A
F F# E
[/tab]
|
and it ends up looking like this:
Tab: |
P1 P2 P3 P4 K
E F
C D B
A B
G F#
E Eb
C C#
A
F F# E

No, the forum does not accept PDF file uploads. _________________ -𝕓𝕆𝕓- (admin) - Robert P. Lee - Recordings - Breathe - D6th - Video |
