I've always said, when asked , If the AMP Police came and said you can keep one amp , we are confiscating the rest, pick one.
Well it's the HR Deville. yeh it's heavy ,bulky , overkill on small gigs, small rooms etc, but it performs.
As a Double Duty player for my entire journey , even over a Twin Reverb , the 2x12 HR Deville is my choice if I only could have one amp.
last weekend and this weekend I have two outdoor gigs booked guitar only. Last night I got a fill in call for Steel and Guitar, the HR D was already loaded so it came to the gig as it has countless times before over the last 15 or so years .
yep one channel so we gotta use an AB box. Who cares,. this thing rang true last night and reminded me just how good it is. Full clean for the Steel (big room) and a tad of grit added with the Sparkle Drive for the Telecaster.
My good friend , the 1998 HR Deville. Fully restored ( electronically) last year. It only comes out now and then , but when it does it's a stark reminder to me just how good it is.
