I've moved a few pedals around and my B-C# raise, on the third string, is not returning to pitch. The lowers work fine. I've tried to make sure the cables are not binding. Does the changer need any lubricant or is it just a binding issue? My 400 has 8 pedals.

Is the turnbuckle too tight? That's the first thing to check. Next, make sure you oil the nut and bridge (where the string goes over them), and all the other parts in the pulling chain (footpedals, bellcranks on the front apron), the main pulley (on the side), and the changer...especially where the fingers come through the plates on the top and bottom. |

Donny,
I have the second generation 400 with the roller nut and cam-bridge. Do they still need lubed?
Thanks,

Hey Russ,
Before this gets closed, tell us other Fender owners how you fixed the problem
(I'm sure in the future someone will want to know how you fixed it)
Thanks
Jay

I took it outside and said a prayer over it. I used a silicone lube and moved a few cables to make sure that they didn't bind. With 8 pedals the cables and pulley are the biggest problem IMO. Now that it's working I'm good to go!
