This has 3 pedals and one knee lever, and I’m willing to bet it’s some sort of frankenguitar. It does have a serial number on one of the end pieces though, “SER 00 101.” I was told that this guitar may be some sort of transitional model Buddie Emmons made before starting Emmons and after leaving Sho Bud. I’m a little skeptical, but I don’t know much about PSGS. Thanks for any thoughts!

I think you have a one of a kind that somebody built for themselves. I don't think the serial number means anything. It's just the number that was stamped on it when he dug the end castings out of somebody's bone yard.

For sure, it's no Emmons.

Looks a lot like an early Erickson. A builder from Minnesota. I had one very similar back in the early seventies.

How bouts a shot of the fretboard & keyhead from above? And a shot of the pedals? Still think it’s Millerish.

Well, it sure looks a lot like the Erickson I found on the internet. The square end on the changer match up, although the other one is powder-coated black. The keyboard also looks like a black version of the white one on the other guitar.

The Erickson you found on the internet is one of his early student models. Elvin Erickson thought the 3rd pedal was unnecessary for a beginner.it looks like my old one, maybe it is.....
Your guitar is most likely an Erickson missing it’s decal.. His early pull release guitars castings were all were all made and polished by him and the wood was local hard Birdseye maple. They sounded great because of the resonance of the push release changer, more like a Bigsby than the all pull changers that he started using after those early guitars.. At the end of his run, he was using parts and changers from other makers.

Thanks to all for all of the information.

Yeah, all of the metal parts on the student model look pretty much identical to those on mine (other pictures of the student model I didn't include match everything pretty much 100%), and the wood is gorgeous. I'm certainly not going to complain if my PSG sounds somewhat like a Bigsby! She does need a good bath and lube, but I think she'll clean up well.
