Battery is supposed to last 3000 hours, so Duracel stock is not going up if you get one.

Unplugging the 'out' line turns it off. I have yet to change the battery, and I've had mine for years! Smile

Dave, I'd change the battery every 2 or 3 years anyway, or at least check it to make sure it's not leaking. I've noticed that the alkaline batteries made now aren't nearly as good as those of 20 or 30 years ago, despite what all the manufacturers claim. They will also continue to work after they start leaking, giving you a false sense of security while they ruin whatever they're in. I've had to do the "wash and clean" procedure on a half-dozen pieces of electronic equipment recently because the batteries leaked long before their supposed "GOOD UNTIL" date.
