Alkire Eharp, $450.00 Or best reasonable offer.
I'll be returning to the USA in early July for about 6 weeks or so and will bring it with me then if bought by someone there.
If someone overseas wants it I expect it will cost about $135.00 just for shipping.
Guessing about $50.00 within the lower 48.
The Mother Of Toilet Seat model is very pretty, sets up tripod-style and sounds strongest in the treble range, very bright.
Great condition, no body issues, minor cosmetic discoloration in two spots as shown in photo below.
Very nice considering its 60+ years old. I think it is from the mid 50’s to 60’s but not sure how one would know the exact date?
Has some numbers on the bottom but I have no idea what they indicate?
Original electronics I think except I replaced the capacitor which was not functioning. The pots work perfect and the tuners are original. New strings in C6th.
Legs are in perfect working order with the rubber feet, brass and chrome in really nice shape. Function perfectly.
Original tweed case in great shape for age and holds the guitar well. All latches work perfectly. Handle is still firm.
The reason I'm selling is I don't need it. Bought it to try out the 10 string Morrell E13th tuning. Was trying to decide if I'd wanted Todd to build my 3 neck console with a 10 string center neck for this tuning. Well the tuning was fun, but really I find 8 strings better suited for my simple non pedal playing. So ended up with a T-8 Clinesmith Console and now never play the Eharp at all. Best to find it a good home.
Now for the photos;
I replaced the original damaged fretboard shown on the bottom of the photo with the new one shown on top;
These are the numbers on the bottom which I can not explain;
I had mentioned the discoloration on the front. There were a couple of velcro diamond shaped strips there when I got the guitar. When I removed them this was left. I'm not sure what could remove these without damage to the finish?
And now for the case. I could say more but the pictures say a thousand words;
If you want to know more please contact me or if the question would be of interest to others place it in the thread and I'll respond soon.
Thanks for looking... _________________ Inlaid Star Guitar 2006 by Mark Giles. SD-10 4+5 in E9th; http://luthiersupply.com/instrument-gallery.html

Hi Bill,
Yes, "Great Price" I know, Maybe too low, but I'd like to sell it and also see it go to someone who will enjoy it too.
Here at my place it is just sitting in it's case doing nothing.
I have too many steel guitars...
Best wishes,

funny, as much as I love my clinesmith it is sitting unplayed because it is 8 strings. As soon as Todd is making the aluminum casts in 10 strings I plan on buying one and selling the 8 string. |

Todd told me a couple of months ago he will have the aluminum 10 Strings available soon. I think he said by the end of this year, but I might be wrong.
He is just now waiting for some bodies from the foundry, but I'm not sure if it is those or the Fry Pans he is working on.
Late Saturday night here now and no gig so I'll be off to sleep. _________________ Inlaid Star Guitar 2006 by Mark Giles. SD-10 4+5 in E9th; http://luthiersupply.com/instrument-gallery.html

I believe the numbers are an Illinois driver's license number. If so, the owner of that number was born in 1933. |

Sounds possible. So maybe he was the first owner or one of the owners of the steel and wanted to protect it from theft?
Thanks Jon. _________________ Inlaid Star Guitar 2006 by Mark Giles. SD-10 4+5 in E9th; http://luthiersupply.com/instrument-gallery.html

Thanks Willis.
That makes 3 people who want to be in line if the deal don't go down.
I did talk to the gentleman who was first to offer to buy it this morning on Apple Facetime.
I'm 99% sure he will carry through and pay.
Naturally with volcanos, tsunamis, alien abductions and all out war who can be sure of anything in this world....
Best wishes,
