Stainless Steel 36" 3/32 welding rods

Does anyone know a supplier for about 20 of these?

Got mine at a local welding supply company. Only needed 3 so they didn't even charge me. Needed them for my Carter. They bend ok, but once bent they become very easy to break if you try to adjust the angle.

tbh.. David is correct .. any welding supply place has them... I just bought a handful for my Willy, but I used plain old mild steel. bends easier than stainless... A little less shiny I suppose, but MUCH cheaper and WAY easier to work with. bob

What you want for your Carter (if that's what you're working on) is 3/32 stainless tig rod. This stuff is usually hardened, so the easiest way to work with it is heating it with a propane torch. In order to thread it, you will need to heat it to take the hardness out before you try to cut threads in it.

Lots of overkill using steel rods. I've been using 3/32 brass welding rods for years. Simply cut them to size and thread with 4-40 die. Metal is soft, easy to work, just as light in weight as steel, and certainly strong enough to pull a guitar string. Just my .02 cents worth.
