| When I got my old 75 D10 in 1976, it came with a regular Emmons bar (it has "Emmons" stamped on the end) and an Emmons sitar bar. I love both of them. Wondering how many pickers here still have their old Emmons bars? |

I have an Emmons sitar bar however I have never found a use for a sitar bar.

Still use my Emmons bar, bought in Nashville in 1980. Got a few dings by now, but make sure those are under my hand when I play.

Hey Tom,
I just asked for the same thing under the "Wanted to Buy" section yesterday. Bob Hoffner let me know that the bars are listed under accessories on the Emmons site... just click on the links above and go to builders (Emmons)... I submitted a Email but it did not give me an option to put in credit card so I am going to call them and place an order... they are still not answering phone after the convention yet. There is also a post from Jerry Hayes that has one he does not use.... I'm like you. That is the best bar I ever used to communicate with my steel. All the others seem to light or heavy and I find my wrist getting sore from pressing but the Emmons must come preprogrammed to know it's job...ha ha |

| I have a late 60's Emmons bar. Think I bought it at Scotty's. Love it! I've used it so much the name Emmons's on the end is getting hard to see. |

I have an Emmons bar I bought in the 80,s I think is Stainless but the bar I use is an old chrome plated Dunlop that came with my first steel.That thing has the chrome wearing off in spots but it is still smoother than my stainless bar.By the way I use the stainless bar at home and carry the other whenever I play elsewhere.

I still have 2 of the ones I bought back in the 70's. I've always liked them, and never found a need to replace them or try other ones.

I've got four Emmons bars. I keep one in the seat, (along with a BJS,) and three at home, (two standard and one 12 string.)
The most recent of the Emmons bars is one I bought from them at the convention in St. Louis. Buddy used it all day to play the first LeGrande in the booth. What was that, 1979? 1980? They're all still in great shape, too.
I traded a 1" George L bar for the BJS. The extra weight made my hand tingle like it was going to sleep. The doc said probably carpal tunnel, but it comes and goes...

Still exclusivly using my '70 Emmons bar. Thought I lost a couple of months ago, drove 70 miles out of my way to check the last venue.... found it! Glad to hear they still can be purchased... anyone know if the new ones are the same specs?

I've had mine since '78, I think Sonny Miller gave it to me. It's the only bar I've ever had or used! I see many posts about bars, and I look at my old Emmons, and it just keeps on a-slidin.

| I've got my old Emmons bar that I keep for a spare in the seat. I sat in on Smileys guitar a while back and he had one of these Sitar bars. That guitar was set up too weird for me and the bar kept rolling to the flat side. I've seen them before but never used one and I won't ever again. |

I've got my Emmons bar I bought in the '70's. I sold the guitar and got a Pedalmaster U12, and bought a 'Twister" bar from Scotty for the 12-string, which works very well, had a hard time with the 12-string and the blunt end of the Emmons. I kept the Emmons bar, just couldn't sell it.

I had two of the old Emmons bars I bought from Blackie Taylor in the middle 70's. I hadn't used 'em in years. I went to the cabinet in the garage and pulled one out to send to Larry Chung in California and took the other in the house for the heck of it and sat down at my steel. Man I'd forgotten how great those old SS bars were. I like the tone I get with it and just might start gigging with it again....JH in Va.

I still have a 69 or 70 emmons bar.I use it every weekend.But they forgot to put emmons licks on it.  |
