Someone contacted me today with a question about how to adjust the pedals on a 6-string pedal steel guitar. She described the guitar and I was baffled. So she sent me these pictures. Does anyone recognize this model? Is it "factory" or home made? American or not? The most unusual feature is the side mounted headstock (see picture #3). The owner said there is no brand name on the guitar. Anybody out there know what this is? Inquiring minds want to know! Surprised

Doug, a couple of years ago I gave that guitar to the Lady who contacted you. Richard is quite right, it was made by Jim Flynn at Lone Star and very much like the one he linked to. She contacted me after she was in touch with you and I sent her some further info. I have no interest in playing Nashville style music so I had it in a G Tuning (L2H: DGDGBD) with A and B Pedals and a couple of other changes. She now has the details or you could get back to me if interested.

I suppose that it could be set up as the middle six strings of E9 (3rd-8th) or a Sixth Tuning with pulls similar to C6. It is kind of Unique, Oddball if you like, and I wanted to do something very Americana in today's lingo with it. I am still fooling with some of those ideas and may be looking into an Acoustic Pedal Guitar in the (near) future.

Back on Topic, she and her Husband and I are old friends but these days most of the Continent separates us, so I hope that you can give her some local help when she is looking for some. Hope this helps you figure it out. Have a Good One. Cool
