Is Bob Stone still with us, and active here on the forum? If so, is there a way to contact him? Did he ever publish the book he was working on a few years ago? I tried doing a few searches, turned up everything but what i was looking for. Any information on bob is much appreciated. George

Hello George,

Thanks for inquiring about me and the book. I am indeed alive and well, albeit not on the Forum as often as in the past. The book was published in 2010.

The link provided by Jim Cohen is correct.

All the best,

Bob

Bob's book is required reading. He's too modest to blow his own horn, but as a folklorist for the state of Florida, Bob was the guy who first alerted the world at large about the sacred steel tradition in the Keith Jewell dominions. Previously, this was a private aspect of their religious services.

Bob, along with Arhoolie Records created the first tape and produced CDs, a DVD, and eventually, a book about the movement. He's also been active in documenting the rich cowboy tradition in Florida. Cowboys in Florida? Yup. Look it up. Bob did a beautiful coffee table book on that traditional swell. Lots of talented folks on the forum!
