Just checking on what some of you think about the MARRS SD10 pedal steel? The one I am looking at has 4 and 4 and round cross shafts, 3 up and 3 down, looks like Sho-Bud parts on it.

Just heard from Jeff Surratt, and he told me that this does not have Sho-Bud parts, but it has Marrs parts. The fret board has been changed. _________________ If you succeed in cheating someone, don't think that the person is a fool. It's just that the person trusted you far more than you deserved.

First off, I would say that guitar is an S10, not an SD 10.. Second, if the price is something you can live with I'd snap it up quick!. I would be very happy playing that guitar..Its gorgeous to look at, and was built by one of the best pedal steel guys that ever lived.. whats not to like about it??.. bob _________________ I'm over the hill and hittin'rocks on the way down!

Gary,
Someone has installed a Zumsteel fret board, (which is designed for a 24 1/4" scale). I'm not too familiar with Marrs guitars, so I don't know if Duane built his guitars with a 24" or 24 1/4" scale. It's just something you should verify, by accurately measuring the distance from the crown of the finger tops to the roller axel. If it measures 24", you'd need to replace the fret board with one designed for a 24" scale. _________________ Best regards,

Thanks, I will check it. If I have to change the fret board, can the current one be saved for someone needing a Zumsteel fret board? _________________ If you succeed in cheating someone, don't think that the person is a fool. It's just that the person trusted you far more than you deserved. |

I had 3 of Duanes' guitars.
Remember he worked for Sho-Bud for I believe 13 years.

Jeff just told me that the scale is 24 1/4" on the Marrs. _________________ If you succeed in cheating someone, don't think that the person is a fool. It's just that the person trusted you far more than you deserved. |
