| comments please, thinking I might take back neck off this Sierra an put a pad on back. An sell the changer, neck an key head. Or build a steel use parts for second steel. This steel looks An plays like Brand new. Maybe I got too much time on my hands. |

 like to have one have Wally Moyers Reso Rocker instead of pad. There would be plenty Of room An the front neck one inch thick, so it would be perfect. |

If you do away with the Sierra Changer, Neck & Keys, one would only need a body (easy to make), pedals (a pedal bar) & a few things to make another guitar, even a E9 Guitar. That sounds intriguing... let us know

| Yes Charley, thats what I intend too do if it don’t sell. I’ve built a few pedal steels. I would like to see how a Sierra with maple cabinet an Neck would sound. I’m finishing up a s10 know . The Sierra will be my next project if it don’t sell. |

Totally agree with Mike. Fully realizing it's Johnie's instrument and his prerogative to do with it as he wishes, it's my strong feeling that vintage instruments should be preserved, not dismantled. |

Looks like Johnie is offering anyone who wants to do so, a chance to do just that. Can't say the opportunity wasn't given. I have to put the burden of saving it on a sympathetic buyer rather than the owner. Can't tell someone else what to do with their own property.
Personally, I have some affinity for this series of Sierras through the Crown/Royalty models and this guitar in particular. MOF, I was once in conversation with a previous owner concerning a trade.... lack of finances preventing an outright buy.
That didn't work out however. Maybe for the best, given the mass of the D12...so I guess I'm over that and moving on toward something else.
It's all just metal and wood anyway. Nothing sacred there. |
