I thought I'd post this again as it is a good comparison of a ZUM Steel vs. a CARTER steel.

This is a combo of C6th (in the beginning intro) and E9th. I used a Peavey Nashville 1000, Alesis midiVerb and Band in a box.

I'm assuming the Zum was first and the Carter second, based on the sound. The Zum sounds like it has a little more sustain, but I always think they sound a little more metallic, for lake of a better word. The Carters always seem a little weak in the lower mid / upper low, range. But if I had to pick one based on this comparison I think it would be the Carter, if I'm correct on it being the second one. This if just my opinion now, not a call to arms everyone. Excellent job on the comparison.

Very nice playing Ron! The difference in the guitars is subtle, but noticeable. By far, overshadowed by your playing. It’s not the car, but the driver.

You should note that the “picosong.com” site is going away in a few weeks, so perhaps you may wish to move your file to another site for others to enjoy down the road.

Cheers,
Mark Very Happy

I thoroughly enjoyed that. Listened to it twice, then recorded it on my iPhone. I have only been playing for two years. What is the name of the tune.
Thanks for sharing.

Ron,

I hear very little difference in the two guitars. I dont think I would have noticed if you hadn't told us there were two guitars. What I did notice is that you've got full command of the guitars and you're getting the tone and licks out of them. Nice work!

Actually, I got the idea from Randy Rhinehardt. I heard him play it with Bobby Flores on C6.

May I ask which BIAB style you used? I'm just getting started with BIAB, and having a hard time with styles.

Thanks!
