This may apply to any all pull steel but I aimed it towards Encore owners as theirs will look the same.
Is there an order of operations for tuning the 5,6, and 10 splits? For example 5 and 10 lower to A on the Franklin pedal and then to Bb on the vertical.
Does the green one only come into play after you've tuned both lowers individually and then while raising the A pedal with the vertical?
Also - why is the String 9 D lower red and what purpose is the green tuner in that case? There's nothing to split as its the only change on that string.

I just received one of these very recently. With the tuning of splits on string 6, for example, tune the B pedal raise and RKR lower with their corresponding white tuners, then use the white lower tuner for the split (B+RKR) and finally use the green tuner to fine tune the RKR lower.
For string 9, The red tuner corresponds to the half stop on string 2 and the green to the 9th string lower. |

I realized after posting that this may be different with the Franklin pedal in the mix. I don't have this on mine. The string 9 info is accurate though. |

That makes sense Mathew, except for the green being the adjustment for the lower on 9. Its on the raise finger.
Perhaps the green might be the half stop and the red is the lower adjustment. Not sure why its red though. All of the other lowers are just regular white. I could ask Doug - but he's busy building these fine guitars! _________________ https://www.facebook.com/ggefell/ |

Manual sent Gregg.
The red nut on string 9 adjusts the half stop for the C# note on string 2.
The green nut on string 9 adjusts the B note on string 9 lower. You might say that the two work together.
When the feel stop on 2 is adjusted where most people will want it, the 9th string is lowered a bit flat of C#. The green nut raises that note a bit to be in tune to C#.
It's not so confusing after you have messed with it a few times. If you keep the same size and brand of strings it rarely requires any adjustment.

I think there's a typo here -- he means "C# note" instead of "B note." No problem; we all know what note the 9th string lowers to. Carry on. |

Thanks Tucker, yes it was a typo in the above message and I have corrected it. It's hard to think, type, make out a FedEx sticker and eat a sandwich at the same time. |

Thanks again for the manual Doug. The procedures will be second nature after a few tune ups! _________________ https://www.facebook.com/ggefell/ |
