I haven't posted anything on the forum lately since my wife past away 9 months ago. I felt members should know about this guy. About ten days ago I ordered some parts for my 74 MSA classic from Michael Yahl. Now first let me say that I had dealt with him twice before for parts for the same guitar when he was in Arizona. Maybe about two years ago.
Both times I ordered over the phone. Never had a problem, he was excellent to deal with, However this time was different. I called him on the phone and he was in his car driving so I said could I call him back when he's in his shop and not too busy. He said, "No you have to order online". I told him I'm not to good with that. He said thats the only way he does it. So anyhow I went on his site. Got on PRE 1985 MSA'S and ordered 4 bell cranks,1 pedal pull, 1 cross rod and some pedal pins and 4 24' pedal rods
and 4 changer finger to bell crank rods. Well everything was fine with all the small parts, But all the rods were the wrong diameter. The pedal rods
were about 25 thousandts to small and with an apron bend. Clearly not MSA. The changer finger rods Were 3/32 not 1/8 in. They would have been slopping around in the sleeves. I called him immediately and told him about the rods. He told me thats the stuff you ordered. I said "look" I was on the PRE 1985 MSA site. He got arrogant and says he sells a lot of parts of various guitars it was fault. At this point I was starting to relent. Then I said I'll send the rods back and I'll pay shipping. Well his whole attitude changed and he said they wouldn't have looked to good on there, meaning the pedal rods' and added that he'd make new ones. Next day I took them down to the post office. Meanwhile I'm starting to get really pi///d off thinking about everthing. so I call him up and I told the rods are on there way back and when he gets them credit my account and added I didnt want him to make anything else for me. He said Ok. End of story. I dont know what happened, but the two calls I made back to him I could have ordered everything and got it right. He's welcome to reply to me on this forum or he,s got my tel.number. I used to like him. Not anymore. Tenn. Lee

Sounds like a private matter to me, why make it public? There are hundreds of satisfied customers of Michael's out there.

That's not fair, Lee, to air a personal disagreement on a public forum. You need to do as Darvin advises, handle things privately.

Both you and Michael are good people. Is it too hard to think that maybe he, or you, were having a bad day?

I hope you work things out satisfactorily.

I ordered parts for a 74 MSA that meant the right rods. He's already into to me for shipping going
back. Maybe next time he wont be to busy to take an order over the phone. T.L.

Lee, This is a private matter, should not have been posted on this forum. I do not think you gained anything by doing so. I am sure you are a nice person and I am sorry to hear about the loss of your wife but to air this on the forum is not cool. Michael is well know here on the forum and has always been forth right.
To bad mouth him did not gain you any kudo's. J.R.

What everyone else responded.....Michael has been good to allot of people. Look in the mirror before you generate another post. You may THINK you communicated clearly but
I KNOW heÒ€ℒs NEVER disappointed me in our dealings.

Apparently there was a communication breakdown on this order. It happens now and then with any business. Online ordering is better than phone ordering because there is a record of what was ordered.

Michael Yahl is an honest businessman. If the error was his, I'm sure he'll make good on it.

Enough has been said. Topic closed.
