This probably a dumb question.......but.....here goes. Why does the harmonic note on the 5th fret, sound exactly the same and the harmonic note at the 24th fret? _________________ Currently own, 6 Groner-tone lap steels, one 1953 Alamo Lap steel, Roland Cube, Fender Champion 40 |

Because they are both 1/4 of the string length so both activate the same harmonic in the string.

Hey thanks guys. I asked 2 guys at work that play guitar and they didn't know. I told them I will post it on the forum........by the time I got home I had all these answers and one came all the way from Viet Nam! You'll find just about any question about steel guitars can be answered by one or many people here on the forum.
