This seems like a really good guitar for someone who wants a Lacquer MSA D-10 but not the weight. There's a pic of the one I'm talking about on the back cover of the Steel Guitar Magazine Issue with Maurice Anderson on the cover. It advertises that the guitar is only 39 pounds. It looks like a real beauty.

Can any owners elaborate on this particular guitar? I'd consider getting one if I could find out some solid info - and, of course, one available.

Yep, I got one and love it. I wanted one of these in the '70's when they first came out but there was no way I could afford one. But, with the help of Herb Steiner, I landed this one 5 or 6 years ago. These guitars were probably 20 years ahead of their time. Plays great, sound great, and is fairly lightweight as the advertisement says. BTW, the Classic SS was designed by Bud Carter.

Ya, that's the one. What a beauty. Does anybody know how much I would pay for one of these in excellent condition?

I recently bought one exacly like the guitar pictured above off a forum member in pretty rough shape, but nothing seriously wrong with it. I paid $1100. It had quite few bar dings and cotter pins (sp?) holding knee levels on.

With a little help from a local forum member, a lot of readin the forum, and a whole bunch of trial and error, I managed to get it to where I like it.

If the price is right, I'd recommend one.
