Did a Forum search (both sources). Can't find any info if the Hipshot Trilogy is "currently" being manufactured. Appears it was discontinued back in 2004, but was going to be improved and reissued.
Hipshot doesn't show it on their website...that being said, not every product is featured on their site.

Thanks for any info.

Tom,

https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Hipshot-Trilogy-TMB4-Lap-Steel-and-Custom-Guitar-Applications-BLACK-/391738401841?hash=item5b356da431

They seem to be selling them on eBay so perhaps it was reissued.

Thanks for the heads-up Gary. Appears the ebay listing may be NOS from the original production.

Think I will contact Hipshot directly for dimensions etc.

I’ve been using their Doubleshot” on my dobro for over a year to tune between open G and open D. It works flawlessly. Not sure about juggling three different tunings with the Trilogy....sounds like a tall order.

I have the Hipshot Trilogy on a couple of guitars, including an 8 stringer.
I even obtained a roller bridge from them.

Nice pictures Erv.

I see you have the 8 string roller nut. What are you using for the bridge...an addition 8 string roller nut?

I am currently having a Melbert 6 string being built using the 6 string Duesenberg Multibender. String benders are great for raising or lowering a string in a quick passage/lick, but not so great if you need to maintain a string pitch. I believe that's where the Trilogy shows it strong feature...quickly maintaining a strings pitch for a key change.

Tom,
I'll see if I can't pull up another picture.
If I'm not mistaken, the bridge is the same one that came with the Lapdancer.
With the Hipshot Trilogy, I can dial in the three tunings I use most often on a lap steel: C6th, C#minor7th and the A6th.

Erv,

How long ago did you purchase the 8 stringer Trilogy?

I see where the Trilogy extends beyond the guitar body. Do you experience any instability (in the tuning) because it is not supported by the full guitar's body?

By the way...nice looking lap steel!!!

Tom,
I've had that guitar for a number of years.
The hipshot is secured to the guitar by an L shaped bracket fastened to the top of the guitar and also on the end, so it is very stable.
BTW: I also refinished the guitar after I got it and routed leg flanges into the guitar for legs.
The fretboard is leather. Very Happy
Erv

I bought this guitar from Loni Specter in California.
He also builds the "Redneck", a square neck that can be mounted on a Fender guitar. I also have one of those!

Thanks for the pictures Erv.

Leather fret board...now that's creative!
