The way these guitars are built is pretty amazing craftsmanship. Really beautiful work. _________________ 1973 Sho-Bud LDG-Round Front (3&4), 1976 Marlen D-10 (8&4), Emmons Legrande II (8&6), Marlen and Jim Dunlop Bars, Sho-Bud Volume, Emmons Volume, 1983 Peavey Nashville 400, 1989 Peavey Nashville 400, Quilter Steelaire, Catalinbread Belle Epoch Analog Delay, Peterson Strobo Plus HD Tuner, National and Herco Thumbpicks, National Fingerpicks |

I have to agree with you my friend, I think the were actually ahead of their time when it comes to innovations and mechanics... this particular guitar is very interesting to me because it is SD10, but without an arm rest, only other guitar like that I’ve seen was a gorgeous purple Show Pro... you could of course add a nice arm rest, but I think it looks very cool just the way it is.... |

I had one just like it, only rosewood. Probably the best guitar I ever owned. Looks to be an Olympian or Timberwolf. Just waiting on a price drop. lol. Gorgeous guitar |

This is a Rolls Royce, not a Cadillac. This is what dreams are made of. A pad will be the crowning touch

After a closer look I was wrong about this guitar being an olympian. I see now the body is a bit wider. Really nice Femur. |

thanks guys... those Sierras are great guitars ... I think I love this one just the way it is, with an arm pad, it would be just another SD10 , but the way it is right now looks different... I thought about adding an arm pad, but changed my mind ... |

Excellent guitar. Certainly the Rolls Royce, or Mercedes Benz of the pedal steel world. Damir's looks like an Olympic from the late '70s. Some people don't like the looks of these, I think they look amazing. If you're not sure, sit down, tune up and play the thing--they get better looking. Just my opinion: this model of Sierra guitars is the best looking they ever made. The sound, the action, the pedal feel of these--all are first class. Maybe the new guitars are this good, this one was this good 40 years ago. Here's the one I played for six weeks in the Patsy Cline show last year. It was perfect every night.

Glad to comment. Yours is especially cool looking. I like the black/gold of mine but now I'm jonesing for one that's solid black with the white badge. That black/red one you sold awhile ago was beautiful. Wish I'd bought it. |

Here are a few pics of my Sierra. I believe it is a 77 model, but could be wrong. It came as a 3 & 3, but now it's 4 & 5. I took the Sierra & Olympic badges off, as I felt the instrument deserved nicer badges. I also added a pad, as I like a pad. Being a Design Engineer, it's hard to be satisfied with something out of the box, even if it's used.

Do the legs just slip into sockets and lock with a lever?
How does pedal bar attach to legs?
How much does the guitar weigh in the case?
I’m definitely interested! |
