McMaster-Carr has tons of this stuff, for example,

"Mirror-Like 6061 Aluminum Sheets and Bars", 1655T1:

The example I looked up was Mirror-Like 6061 Aluminum, 0.032" Thick.

Dennis, were you able to find the trim strips. I am unable to find 5/16" for Emmons guitars. Please let me know if you found a source.
Thanks,
Jerry

Sorry Dennis, I was asking you for help in finding 5/16” strips. I found the 1/2” wide ones at Lowe’s but I don’t want 1/2”. I was hoping you located some and could help me.
Jerry

I see that Jerry. I got overly excited.

How thick and how long do the strips need to be? I have sheet metal equipment and a polishing machine. I might be able to help you out.

Thanks for your reply George.
1/16" thick x 5/16" wide × 35" long.
I would need 4 of them. Not sure what Jerry Roller would need.

George, not meaning to butt into Dennis’ thread but I think Dennis and I have the same need. I need 1/16” thick, 5/16” width and 35” long. I don’t think they can be sheared because they can’t be twisted. I can polish strips if I can obtain uniform strips.

Sorry, but I am not going to be able to help. My stomp shear is on!y 30" wide. My roller shear is 8 ft. but it would curl the strips.

Perhaps one of the many builders here would be willing to supply them.

I had the local Metal Supermarket size some 3/8" aluminum strips for me, but the shear distorted one edge so that by the time I sanded it all even and polished it out it really wasn't worth the trouble.

They probably need to be cut rather than sheared.

Thanks to the help of Mike Mantey at Mullen Guitars I can make them. I have to make a router jig but no longer a big deal. This conversation was a few months ago but with Mike’s information and my study of what he described to me I get it. I have called on Mike three different times for help with a problem and he has helped me every time.
Thanks again Mike,
Jerry
