Hey everyone, I'm planning on doing a few live streaming events, mostly to discuss and perform some of my arrangements and I'm looking for some suggestions as to things you'd like me to talk about/demonstrate. I'd like to keep it all related to Steelonious and the work I'm doing/my approach.

Please feel free to make suggestions. I'm probably going to start doing this within the next few weeks, mostly likely through YouTube Live.

wow, mike that sounds great.

i would like to hear about the most important things you have learned in your steel travels. techniques of muting, tunings, hitting the "right" notes and playing to the song.

hope i'm reading your post correctly.
thanks,
mikeB

Hey, Mike, great idea.

A couple of things that come to mind are . . . effective jazz/swing comping as a steel player in a small combo (in my case, guitar, bass and steel) - and it would be nice to watch how you employ your tetrachord method in complicated melodies.

You might hear more from me . . . Smile

That sounds like a great way to deliver information!
1. How you warm up
2. How/when you use the 8th string
3. Anything about bossa nova
4. How you approach playing backup

I'd watch a live stream for sure.

Comping, arranging, improv, "tricks and tips", and whatever else you want.
