Today's tab is a salute to us aging country rockers Here's Scott Boyer's break to Gregg Allman's version of Jackson Browne's song "These Days". This was on Gregg's 1973 solo album, "Laid Back" - still one of my all-time favorite albums and The Allman Brothers Band was a huge influence on my early guitar playing. And today's trivia fact: who knew Gregg and Jackson Browne were roommates in Los Angeles in the late 1960's?
Playing notes: there's a few ways and places on the neck to play the second part of the first line. I'm pretty sure G levers didn't exist in 1973 but it was fun to play this way. (G lever raises string 2, +1/2).
Corrections and comments always welcome. Here it is on youtube, the break starts at 1:40. Nice tribute photos on the video - rest in peace Gregg.

Scott Boyer was quite a musician! Here's a song on which Duane Allman plays the dobro. But you propably knew this already, Jeff.

Nice to see Scott Boyer getting some recognition around here. As a certified life-long anything-Allman nut, Scott's steel playing is what initially drew me to the sound of the instrument. I got to see him live with Greg when he was touring behind the "Laid Back" record in 1973. Jim Croce was supposed to open that show but tragically he died earlier that week.
I did not know Scott had passed. So very sorry to hear it. _________________ Tommy Detamore
